The University of Ghana Law school offers a post first degree LLB program for holders of first degree in fields other than law. This offers non-law students who are interested in pursing a profession in law to a chance at realizing their dreams.
Starting from the 2021/2022 academic year, the University of Ghana law school runs the post first degree LLB as an evening module.

University of Ghana Post first degree LLB admission requirements
University of Ghana Law admissions as post first degree LLB applicant is different from a WASSCE applicant. Prospective students must meet a set of extra admission requirements. The University of Ghana Post first degree LLB admission selection process involves three phases, namely:
- Application and qualification
- Written Examination
- Oral Interview
Application and qualification
Applicant must posses a Degree
To apply for the post first degree LLB program offered by the University of Ghana, the applicant must possess a first degree from an accredited educational institution with a minimum of second class lower. The degree must be from a non law discipline.
Academic certificate and transcripts
Applicants are to include in their application, a copy of their original degree certificate awarded by their institution and also include a copy of their original academic transcripts.
Academic recommendation letters
Applicants are required to submit along with their application, three academic referee reports from the institutions which awarded them their degree.
Written self-evaluation
An applicant is required to write an essay which is a candid evaluation of the applicant as a person, discussing in order of importance, their personal characteristics which are their strengths and those that are their weaknesses. The written self-evaluation must be signed by the applicant with their usual signature.
Application confirmation letter
Applicants are expected to apply online after purchasing the online application voucher. After submitting their information in the application process, an application confirmation letter is shown which must be printed. This must be added in addition to the others stated above for physical submission at the University of Ghana Law school.
Law school entrance examination
Qualifying applicants must pass a written entrance examination as part of the University of Ghana Law admissions process. The examination is arranged by the University at a fee and written on a dated to be communicated to qualifying applicants.
Applicants who fail to write the entrance exam, truncate their application. Applicants who are successful in the written entrance examination will move on to the next stage of the selection process.
The selection examination will attract a non-refundable examination fee of Five Hundred Ghana Cedis Only (GH¢ 500 .00) for both Ghanaian and International Applicants. (Subject to change)
Selection Interview
Successful applicants who pass the written examination will be invited for an oral interview to be conducted by the University of Ghana law school admissions department. This is the last part of the selection process, successful applicants in the interview will then be offered admission.

Ghanaian applicants
Ghanaian Prospective students applying for undergraduate admission to the University of Ghana must buy an e-voucher to be able to apply online.
University of Ghana online application E-VOUCHERS can be obtained by Ghanaian applicants for GH¢200.00 via USSD Payment or at the following banks: Access Bank, Ecobank, Republic Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Ghana Commercial Bank, Zenith Bank, Universal Merchant Bank, Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), Prudential Bank and Fidelity Bank.
International Applicants
International applicants are not supposed to buy the e-voucher. Instead they should follow these steps to apply:

The pay-in-slips together with applicants’ certificates/result slips should be scanned and attached to the application form before submission online.
